A December Affair

Well, I am here. Sort of.

I have been absent for quite a while. Things have turned a tad chaotic after Thanksgiving, especially at work. A co-worker has gone on vacation, so I have been trying to keep everything in order. I think I have worked myself to a frazzle the past few weeks! My other co-workers have managed to leave earlier than I, but my fastidious nature has prevented me from doing the same. They keep encouraging me to do my tasks the next day and just go home. Believe me, there is nothing I would rather do than forget about being Ms. Perfect, and quit stressing over the tiny details.

Sadly, I cannot act nonchalant when it comes to my job. I absolutely loathe putting a strain on myself by working myself into a frenzy. I would not mind resorting to my genuine procrastinating self when I have an ample amount of time to spare, but my work does not allow that at all! So, to avoid me snapping at everyone and working like a whirlwind of Tazmanian Devil, I sacrifice going home when it is still bright outside.

Oh, the price of being an adult.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and of course, I am off from work! It is a most welcomed break, not to count the fact that it is also a paid holiday for me. Yay! I am planning on doing a lot of relaxing and spending the special day with family and friends. I am really blessed this year: I have a new job, I have met more wonderful people, and I am just beaming with unequivocal optimism for 2011. I hope such attitude will continue!

I have included some frozen moments of my chaotic November/December. Of course the month is not over yet, but I still want to share a glimpse of what has kept me occupied for the most part. Enjoy!

Have a blessed Christmas, EVERYONE! :D

Saturday Revelry

I had a gorgeous Saturday.

Working too many hours during the weekdays is wreaking havoc on my holiday spirits. Thank heavens for delightful friends, scrumptious foods, riveting books, feel-good-movies, decadent Peppermint Dark Chocolate Latte (what a mouthful!), and everything red. Life is absolutely beautiful, my lovelies!

How’s your weekend so far?

Je T’Aime, Saturday

For some, love is so potent that you have to proceed with caution.

For others, love engenders a heady feeling of bliss. Everything is beautiful,

and you have this insane urge to laugh all the time.

There are times when love just strikes your consciousness with immediate clarity.

Love lets you enjoy the simple things, which bring the greatest happiness in your days.

Love gives you blessed moments of peace. When silence can be trusted as a sign of guileless solace, instead of frustrating apathy.

Your heart may get broken a thousand times, but it always finds a way to love again.

Despite its vexing ability to make you consume a pint or two of Ben & Jerry’s, love deserves the shed tears, the pounds gained, and the sleepless nights watching Casablanca.

Why?

A kiss is still a kiss

A sigh is just a sigh

The fundamental things apply

As time goes by.

And when two lovers woo,

They still say, “I love you”

On that you can rely

No matter what the future brings…”

Robert and Kristen: Twilight & Beyond

I am such a huge fan of the Twilight series and the actors who portray Edward and Bella (Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, respectively).

Twilight has managed to create a comprehensive pandemonium at every corner of the world. From crazy teens to smitten moms and grandmas, the story of Edward and Bella surely has transcended the realm of fiction.

Robert and Kristen are rumored to be enamored with each other. Many fans are hoping that there is a truth behind the notorious gossips proliferating in the media. I am one of those hopeful fans who surely will be beyond ecstatic if the story turns out to be really genuine.

I am such a dreamer. ;)

Brunettology: Robert Pattinson

It has been quite a while since I posted under this section, so I thought it would be nice to bring it back featuring Robert Pattinson or the angst-ridden beautiful vampire Edward Cullen from “Twilight”. Enjoy Robert’s pic and the video of Iron & Wine’s Flightless Bird, American Mouth below.

Twilight

I have mentioned how I obsessed I am over Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga. I feel like seventeen again whenever I read the books — I have read them again and again, and I never get tired of the undeniably riveting story.

I highly admire the idea of Edward: this dark, altruistic, and chivalrous hero that reminds me of antiquated era. I am profoundly enthralled by the notion of a timeless and selfless love that endures no matter what kind of ordeal it faces. A love that lasts forever.

I also happen to think that Robert is the perfect Edward Cullen. He portrays Edward’s inner turmoil and deep love for Bella so well. When I see a pic of Robert, Edward springs to mind that they are almost interchangeable beings. I cannot wait for the release of Midnight Sun. I hope Stephenie will finish writing it soon.

******

Quotes as Robert Pattinson: “Up until I was 12 my sisters used to dress me up as a girl and introduce me as ‘Claudia’! Twelve was a turning point as I moved to a mixed school and then I became cool and discovered hair gel.

Quotes as Edward Cullen: ”As you were sleeping, you said my name. You spoke so clearly, at first I thought you’d woken. But you rolled over restlessly and mumbled my name once more, and sighed. The feeling that coursed through me then was unnerving, staggering. And I knew I couldn’t ignore you any longer.”

Twilight

Edward: And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.
Bella: What a stupid lamb.
Edward: What a sick, masochistic lion.

Twilight

I read the 4 books — Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn — in the span of 3 days. Now, I am obsessed with Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series! I cannot get enough of Bella and Edward. ::sighs:: And of course, the movie came out yesterday and I am seeing it tonight!! I am so excited. :)

Brunettetology: Marisa Tomei

“Politics itself is so unsexy, isn’t it? But when the politics in creative works are really explored – not used as a vehicle – the results can be really interesting.”

She is so gorgeous and I love her! I fell in love with her in the movie “Only You” where she teamed up with Robert Downey Jr.

Only You is set in the beautiful Italy where Faith (Marisa) hopes to find her destined soulmate, Damon Bradley. When Peter (Robert) accidentally bumps into Faith while she is in pursuit of a faceless Damon, Peter introduces himself as THE Damon Bradley. And a hilarious romance begins.

Only You is perfect for movie date night! So what are you waiting for?

Brunettetology: Anne Hathaway

I loved her in “The Devil Wears Prada” as the naive Andy who scores the job as an assistant to the venomous editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). I really believe she’s the next Julia Roberts!

“Kindness is really important to me in finding my own prince – so are patience and a sense of humor. Without those qualities he’s no Prince Charming!”

Brunettology: Keanu Reeves

I know, I know. Keanu Reeves is obviously NOT a woman, so what is he doing in my Brunettetology section? If you pay close attention, I altered the title to depict the male version of a brunette — Brunet. I just can’t ignore Keanu anymore (who can ignore this yummy man?), and just satisfy myself fantasizing about me and him in a remote cabin somewhere in Colorado, while we ravish each other endlessly. I’m sure a few ladies will thank me for putting him up here. :) Have I said that Keanu looks absolutely delicious? Yummy Keanu. Mmmm.
