Brunettology: Robert Pattinson

It has been quite a while since I posted under this section, so I thought it would be nice to bring it back featuring Robert Pattinson or the angst-ridden beautiful vampire Edward Cullen from “Twilight”. Enjoy Robert’s pic and the video of Iron & Wine’s Flightless Bird, American Mouth below.

Twilight

I have mentioned how I obsessed I am over Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga. I feel like seventeen again whenever I read the books — I have read them again and again, and I never get tired of the undeniably riveting story.

I highly admire the idea of Edward: this dark, altruistic, and chivalrous hero that reminds me of antiquated era. I am profoundly enthralled by the notion of a timeless and selfless love that endures no matter what kind of ordeal it faces. A love that lasts forever.

I also happen to think that Robert is the perfect Edward Cullen. He portrays Edward’s inner turmoil and deep love for Bella so well. When I see a pic of Robert, Edward springs to mind that they are almost interchangeable beings. I cannot wait for the release of Midnight Sun. I hope Stephenie will finish writing it soon.

Quotes as Robert Pattinson: “Up until I was 12 my sisters used to dress me up as a girl and introduce me as ‘Claudia’! Twelve was a turning point as I moved to a mixed school and then I became cool and discovered hair gel.

Quotes as Edward Cullen: ”As you were sleeping, you said my name. You spoke so clearly, at first I thought you’d woken. But you rolled over restlessly and mumbled my name once more, and sighed. The feeling that coursed through me then was unnerving, staggering. And I knew I couldn’t ignore you any longer.”

Brunettetology: Marisa Tomei

“Politics itself is so unsexy, isn’t it? But when the politics in creative works are really explored – not used as a vehicle – the results can be really interesting.”

She is so gorgeous and I love her! I fell in love with her in the movie “Only You” where she teamed up with Robert Downey Jr.

Only You is set in the beautiful Italy where Faith (Marisa) hopes to find her destined soulmate, Damon Bradley. When Peter (Robert) accidentally bumps into Faith while she is in pursuit of a faceless Damon, Peter introduces himself as THE Damon Bradley. And a hilarious romance begins.

Only You is perfect for movie date night! So what are you waiting for?

Brunettetology: Anne Hathaway

I loved her in “The Devil Wears Prada” as the naive Andy who scores the job as an assistant to the venomous editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). I really believe she’s the next Julia Roberts!

“Kindness is really important to me in finding my own prince – so are patience and a sense of humor. Without those qualities he’s no Prince Charming!”

Brunettology: Keanu Reeves

I know, I know. Keanu Reeves is obviously NOT a woman, so what is he doing in my Brunettetology section? If you pay close attention, I altered the title to depict the male version of a brunette — Brunet. I just can’t ignore Keanu anymore (who can ignore this yummy man?), and just satisfy myself fantasizing about me and him in a remote cabin somewhere in Colorado, while we ravish each other endlessly. I’m sure a few ladies will thank me for putting him up here. :) Have I said that Keanu looks absolutely delicious? Yummy Keanu. Mmmm.

Brunettetology: Sandra Bullock

“I have these big piano-playing hands. I feel like I should be picking potatoes”

I just adore Sandra! I think most of the DVDs I own are all about her. My favorite is While You Were Sleeping. It is about Lucy, a subway ticket seller who fancies herself to be in love with a customer named Peter Callaghan. Thanks to good ol’ fate (and the doctor’s diagnosis that he is suffering from amnesia), Peter returns the favor of being smitten. But that happens after he wakes up from a coma. For while he is sleeping, Lucy is falling in love with Jack (Peter’s brother).

Give it to Sandra to turn the character of an ordinary girl into something out of a fairy tale. Lucy falls in love….at second sight. And who says that you only fall in love once?

Brunettetology: Audrey Hepburn

I love watching old movies as they give me a sense of nostalgia and that butterflies-in-your-stomach kind of romance. Most of the romantic flicks nowadays are either full of overt cheesiness that makes me want to gag and choke on my popcorn, or they just fail to elicit a sappy feeling from me. To pay homage to the classic black-and-white movies I heartfully enjoy, I think it is only befitting to start Brunettetology with Audrey Hepburn.

Audrey Hepburn was known for her beauty, elegance, and philantropy. I loved her in Breakfast at Tiffany’s as the charming socialite Holly Golightly and in Funny Face as the solemn Jo who is whisked off to Paris by Dick Avery (played by the debonair Fred Astaire). Here’s to Audrey!

”Let’s face it, a nice creamy chocolate cake does a lot for a lot of people; it does for me.”

Brunettetology

I am adding a new category in my blog called Brunettetology (yes, I know it has yet to be included in the Thesaurus, but its my blog so I can coin a new word as I please). I’m digressing. Back to Brunettetology, this section will pretty much contain anything that has something to do with brunettes: quotations, stories, jokes, articles, and pictures. I think this will give Abstruse Brunette a unique look, and at the same time, offer the readers another perk to visit my blog.

The art on the left is called “Brunette” by Liz Avery. If you are interested to see more of her works, go to http://www.lizavery.co.uk/index.htm
